Barack Obama: “I will bankrupt the coal industry”

If you think that the cost of energy in this country is too high now, you will be longing for the prices you have been paying for energy this past decade once Barack Obama gets his way if we as a country are stupid enough to let him into the Oval Office.
Barack Obama already believes that raising the taxes on the oil companies is going to be the solution to high gas prices. Since when has a business lowered the price of its product or service when the costs of providing that service has gone up?
Now comes word that Obama wants to “bankrupt” the Coal Industry. The following is an excerpt of audio recently uncovered from a January interview with the San Francisco Chronicle:
“I was the first to call for a 100 percent auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter,” Obama continued. “That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.
“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”
I’m sorry but only a complete and total idiot would want to increase taxes, especially increase taxes on energy, and only a complete idiot would actually want to elect a President who openly admits that he plans on doing this.
If Obama gets his way it will cost you more to heat your home, cost you more to use the electricity in your home and cost you even more to fill up your gas tank. If Obama gets his way it will cost businesses more to produce the products they sell, cost businesses more to transport the products they sell, thus causing the price of those goods to go up — and hurting the little people that Barack Obama claims to be their to provide hope and change for.

Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there’s increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.
We face real threats in the world. Don’t give me this ‘blood for oil’ thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would’ve already seized Iraq’s oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don’t give me this ‘Bush Lied…People Died’ crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could’ve easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be ‘discovered.’ Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty.

Federal Judge in Ohio declares park benches as valid addresses to vote

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren’t buildings as their addresses.
U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus also ruled that provisional ballots can’t be invalidated because of poll worker errors.
Monday’s ruling resolved the final two pieces of a settlement between the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.
The coalition agreed to drop a constitutional challenge to Ohio’s voter identification law until after the Nov. 4 election. In return, Brunner and the coalition agreed on procedures to verify provisional ballots across all Ohio counties.
The coalition was concerned that unequal treatment of provisional ballots would disenfranchise some voters.
What I want to know is how exactly does one get their mail delivered to them when their listed address is a park bench or a freeway overpass? I also want to know how exactly do you prove that you have lived in Ohio for at least 30 days, as is required by law before you can vote in an election in Ohio?
So homeless wino’s and crack heads can vote no problem, but many of the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces defending our freedom may not have their absentee ballots counted?
Jackass liberals say that they do all this stuff so certain segments of the population don’t get disenfranchised, meanwhile the only people being disenfranchised with all the rampant voter fraud perpetrated by the far left, is the few remaining people in this nation who still possess values such as common sense.
The Death of Liberty

Those famous words of Sir John Emerich Edward Dalberg-Acton were written in April 1887 in a letter to the English Theologian Mandell Creighton. They could have very easily been written however by James Madison, for over a century before Lord Acton made his famous pronouncement, Madison and the rest of the America’s founding fathers knew this fact all too well.
From the very beginning of humanity, ever since early man first began to gather in tribes and form civilizations, the one chief impediment towards fostering man’s liberty has been government. Not every time, but far too often those in possession of some level of power become intoxicated by the sweet delights that power provides, and strive to take action to seize control of even greater power.
James Madison and the rest of the framers of the Constitution knew all too well the perils of power, having fought for Independence from the British Empire, when they convened in Philadelphia in 1787 with the original intention of amending the Articles of Confederation. What they produced instead was the U.S. Constitution, a document that provided for a form of government which carried out the necessary and legitimate functions of government; defending the nation from foreign threats, administering justice, removing obstacles to free trade and maintaining internal order — while still providing checks that too much power is not held by any one individual or a mass of individuals.
Knowing that preserving freedom depended on the effective ability to restrain the accumulation of too much power in any one source, our founding fathers constructed the Constitution the way that they did. They knew of the dangers of tyranny be it from individuals or the masses who may be persuaded by smooth talking, power hungry individuals partaking in demagoguery. In the Constitution, they specifically outlined the limitations of federal authority to certain delegated powers. Those powers not expressly implied to the federal government, were granted solely to the States. Furthermore, the powers that were given to the federal government were split up in three branches, the Legislative, Executive and Judicial in a manner to provide a measure of checks and balances.
Near the closing of the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was asked by a woman, “what kind of government have you given us?”
“A Republic,” He replied, adding the caveat “if you can keep it.”
In that endeavor, we have failed.
We as a Nation have allowed ourselves to be swindled.
The French Historian, Alexis de Tocqueville realized this for himself that this would happen, when he visited America in the early half of the nineteenth century. In his book, Democracy in America he wrote the following:
Every man allows himself to be put in leading-strings, because he sees that it is not a person or a class of persons, but the people at large who hold the end of his chain.
By this system the people shake off their state of dependence just long enough to select their master and then relapse into it again. A great many persons at the present day are quite contented with this sort of compromise between administrative despotism and the sovereignty of the people; and they think they have done enough for the protection of individual freedom when they have surrendered it to the power of the nation at large.
Thanks to disasters such as the New Deal, we have completely disregarded the warnings given to us by our founding fathers, and have allowed for the radical reinterpretation of the role of our federal government as having the power to do whatever needs to be done — or more specifically, whatever those in power believe needs to be done.
Our federal government has grown to monolithic proportions, so large the George Washington’s, James Madison’s, Benjamin Franklin’s and Thomas Jefferson’s of our past would be ashamed to be called our founding fathers.
Now on November 4th, 2008 we as a nation are in danger of electing a candidate who is the worst type of demagogue our forefathers warned us about. Barack Obama has a clear and unabashed disdain for the U.S. Constitution, the document that framed our Nation’s form of government.
In 2001, when discussing the Civil Rights movement and the Warren Court’s role in it, Barack Obama stated that the fundamental flaw of the Supreme Court in that era was that, “It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution.”
He went on to state that the Constitution provides negative liberties. In that, in a perverse way Obama is right, because the Constitution clearly states what the government does not have the right to do, such as take away our freedom of speech, take away our right to bear arms, take away our liberties. It is not the government that has liberties, it is We, the People.
What Obama wants to change the Constitution to, is into a document that brings us Universal Health Care, Universal Housing, Universal Welfare. He wants to flip the power from We The People, to We the Government. In other words he wants to completely destroy everything our founding fathers believed in when they crafted the Constitution,
In that interview he stated that the Constitution provides for what the States can’t do to you, what the Federal Government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the government should do for you. To Barack Obama those are the flaws of our Constitution, but to our founding fathers and to anyone who truly loves the principles of freedom and liberty, those are the greatest strengths of our Constitution.
Barack Obama sees our system of Government and our U.S. Constitution as something that is out of date. He even admits it when he proclaims that, “It’s time for us to change America.”
The kind of change that Barack Obama wants is the same kind of change brought forth by the Stalin’s and Mussolini’s of the world.
If we elect Barack Obama as President, when Democracy in this country dies it will not be because it was stolen from us… it will be because we gave it away.
Another Unpatriotic Homeowner’s Association Strikes

It’s stories like this one that make me boil with rage at the level of bullshit political correctness that has infested our country, but more so makes me very, very sad that this kind of bullshit actually takes place.
After having spent the last 15 months serving her country in Iraq, SPC Lauren Boitet came home to Orange Park Florida to see her family. As part of the homecoming celebration the family had placed balloons, American flags and welcome home signs in the commons area of the Residential development that they lived in.
The Homeowner’s Association had them removed.

Alan Williams is President of the Pace Island Homeowners Association. He said the problem is the signs and where they were located. Williams says flags are exempt from HOA rules.
Williams says the signs were in common areas and a resident complained that they could be viewed as political and supporting the war. Williams says that’s why the signs were removed.
No Alan Williams, you spineless piece of shit, the signs were supporting SPC Lauren Boitet whose family was glad to see her back after serving her country for the past year and a half, helping to fight for your right to be a spineless piece of garbage.
Ohio Government Computers Used To Investigate Joe The Plumber

What the hell gives the Obama campaign and his lapdogs in the main stream media the right to turn the life of a man completely upside down and attempt to dig up dirt on him on their way to smearing him — just for asking a question of a man who is seeking our vote. A few short weeks ago Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher was just your average American working man, who dreams of one day being his own boss, who was outside playing catch with his son when Barack Obama strolled into his neighborhood campaigning.
Now because he asked Obama a question, and the answer Obama provided was a telling one on the candidates Marxist leaning economic beliefs — the Obama campaign and its minions in the media have turned the man’s life upside down.
From the Columbus Dispatch:
“State and local officials are investigating if state and law-enforcement computer systems were illegally accessed when they were tapped for personal information about “Joe the Plumber.”
Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher became part of the national political lexicon Oct. 15 when Republican presidential candidate John McCain mentioned him frequently during his final debate with Democrat Barack Obama.
The 34-year-old from the Toledo suburb of Holland is held out by McCain as an example of an American who would be harmed by Obama’s tax proposals.
Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher’s driver’s license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate.
Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.
It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver’s license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.
Paul Lindsay, Ohio spokesman for the McCain campaign, attempted to portray the inquiries as politically motivated. “It’s outrageous to see how quickly Barack Obama’s allies would abuse government power in an attempt to smear a private citizen who dared to ask a legitimate question,” he said.
If this is what happens to a regular, average citizen who asks a question of candidate Obama, I am scared as hell for the future of my country, when I think about what might happen to someone who questions President Obama.
Obama Fundraising Fraud

I didn’t try this myself, because I don’t want even 1 penny of my hard earned money going to the Barack Obama campaign even if it is for the purposes of proving fraud in the way his campaign conducts its fundraising efforts. I did however break down and send money to the McCain campaign, having purchased an “I am Joe the Plumber” Tee shirt and a McCain/Palin bumper sticker for the back of my pick-up.
This is the email Jonah Goldberg received from a friend:

Please review the information below and try again.”
I have screen shots and printouts of all of this as well.
Please tell me what I can do with this information? Is this a violation of FEC law by the Obama Campaign? How do we publicize this???

As the Powerline reader has noted, if “John Galt” of “Ayn Rand Lane” attempts a contribution at the McCain campaign, it gets rejected. Which is just as well. If the Republican candidate’s website were intentionally set up to facilitate fraudulent donations, it would be on the front page of The New York Times. But, as it’s King Barack the Spreader, we can rest assured the crack investigative units will be too preoccupied with Governor Palin’s shoes over the next two weeks.
