Answering for the wicked he done

December 30, 2006 by Joe

Grandpappy told my pappy, back in my day, son
A man had to answer for the wicked that he done

Willie Nelson’s words in his and Toby Keith’s “Beer For My Horses” is what I first thought about when I finally heard that Saddam Hussein has met his maker.

Celebrating someone’s death is a rather questionable action, even in light of the fact that the not-so-dearly-departed is responsible for the deaths of thousands. However, somehow I can’t imagine me losing any sleep over the fact that I am pretty darn happy that Saddam Hussein was swinging from the gallows pole this morning. The man murdered, tortured and raped hundreds of thousands, he deserved to die and I am happy that justice was served.

Today is not as big or an important part of history as deposing him from power was. The Saddam era in Iraq has already been over for three years, his death in the greater picture is not very important. Today was mankind serving out justice for actions Saddam Hussein took on this earth, now its up to God to judge him for them.

Making Fools Out Of The Virginia DMV

December 21, 2006 by Joe

This one is pretty funny. Three men, Will Carsola, Dave Stewart and Mark Lance recently put on various ridiculously obvious disguises and strolled into a Virginia DMV office a couple times apiece to obtain duplicate Drivers Licenses. They filmed the whole thing and posted it up on YouTube.

The guys are part of DaybyDay Productions; sort of a Kids in the Hall meet the Jerky Boys Comedy Troup. You can find them at their website LiveDaybyDay.com. The troop has also created a couple movies and the footage filmed for the DMV incident is intended as part of a new movie.

Here are some pictures of the Licenses, complete with ridiculous costumes.

Not one single time did they get turned down and denied the right to obtain a new drivers license, despite the fact that some DMV employees even recognized them from previous visits.

The men knew that they were crossing the line with the stunt, but they did it for the comedic value. In an interview with the Richmond Times Dispatch, Dave Stewart was quoted:

Honestly, I think DMV is a little at fault for letting us get away with it, with terrorists and stuff going on now.

Even if you are not a fan of their type of comedy (I think their funny as hell though), you have to admit that they should be commended for pointing out the absurdity that is the ridiculous ease that Virginia as well as most States distribute drivers licenses. Anybody can get a drivers license, goofballs dressed up in ridiculous costumes even criminals or terrorists.

Here are the videos, you may not like them, I think their funny and feature some great Misfits tunes.

Not only was it a funny prank, but it may have done some good as well. According to Virginia DMV spokesman Bill Foy, the stunt may bring about new policies that would make it more difficult for people to obtain a reissued Virginia license.

Potentially, I think we’ll consider refusing to issue a license to customers who appear to be in disguise or appear to be distorting their face to alter their appearance, using a disguise while obtaining a driver’s license is simply not a joke.

It’s nice that the State that allowed nine out of the nineteen 9/11 terrorists to illegally obtain drivers licenses may now five years plus after the fact actually do something about making it tougher to obtain one. It only took a couple hooligans and a funny video to do it; I guess that’s much more embarrassing then giving out ID’s to crazy Islamofascists.

The Virginia DMV should give these guys credit for pointing out their stupidity and not threaten to cancel their driving privileges like they have done. Letters were sent out to the guys from the DMV to the pair, requiring them to appear within 15 days to reapply for a license because the photos were not accurate portrayals of their faces. However nothing that the men did is illegal, at least as far as current laws go.

If You Don’t Learn History, You’re Destined to Repeat It.

December 20, 2006 by Joe

This video has already been making the rounds in the blogosphere, I just stumbled across it myself at Third World Country and felt compelled to post it my self.

David Zucker, the man behind Airplane (one of the funniest movies ever made) has recently released a video making a complete joke out of the Iraq Study Group report, James Baker and the Hitler of Iran. Anybody who has half-a-brain knows that the ISG report is not even worth the paper it is printed on, and Zucker in a comedic way lampoons the report comparing it with British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement of Nazi Germany with the failed 1938 Munich accord.

Despite being a comedic look at the report, I think the video’s comparisons ring true… too true in a not comedic sort of way.

I’ve already posted comparing what’s going on to day with what happened during the lead up to WWII.

Open Season On Islamofascists

December 19, 2006 by Joe

Stuck Mojo one of the better Rap Metal, and incidentally one of the very first to come out have reunited albeit with a new lead vocalist and have released a new album. They are doing it a little different then the traditional record company method and are offering their entire new release free-of-charge via their website and hope that if you like, that you’ll want to own a copy of the actual ‘Southern Born Killers’ CD, and will go ahead and purchase it also at their website.

The first single for this new album is called “Open Season,” and it is a resounding anti-Jihad tune. The video shot by British filmmaker Simon Evans, can be viewed below this post.

According to Rich Ward the mastermind/lead guitarist of Stuck Mojo the song is not anti-Islam and the video is not lumping all people of the Islamic faith in with the radical ones. You can read more about the true meaning of the song at the message board of Rich Ward’s official website.

As a fan of Rich Ward’s work I will have probably been purchasing the CD anyways, but now I’ll be sure to pick up a copy.

Punk Rock Preacher

December 13, 2006 by Joe

I don’t have the Sundance channel so I will be unable to watch it, but I may seek this show out if/when it gets released on DVD. Tonight at 9 p.m. on the Sundance channel, “One Punk Under God - The Prodigal son of Tim and Tammy Faye” premiers.

I only have a vague recollection of the P.T.L ministry and the Bakkers, as I was only about 12 years old when the ministry collapsed under heavy scandal. Most of what I know about the Bakkers is after the fact stuff such as Tammy Faye’s stint on the second season of ‘The Surreal Life’ with Vanilla Ice, Ron Jeremy, Erik Estrada and others.

I do know that the Bakkers were both ministers and that the P.T.L. Ministry was a massive organization. Now it seems that their son, Jaime “Jay” Bakker is following in the family footsteps — sort of.

Jay Bakker a 30-year-old licensed minister, will be the star of the six-part, Sundance Channel documentary, “One Punk Under God.” He is a very, very different type of Preacher: he’s a tattoo-covered punk rocker who rejects his parents’ emphasis on prosperity and prefers a more humble environment for his work, usually bars, resteraunts and anyplace that people gather.

His ministry, called Revolution, preaches the gospel to society’s outcasts. Advocating God’s love for everyone, regardless of past sins, Bakker has picked up a large and unusual following.

Jay Bakker started the first Revolution ministry in late 1994, in Phoenix Arizona, along with friends Mike Wall and Kelly Miller. He then moved to  Atlanta, Georgia, with the belief that traditional sermons and church services are not reaching his generation. He preached to the street kids of downtown Atlanta, drug addicts, punk rockers, Goths, and skateboard kids, as well as prostitutes, drug addicts, drunks and the homeless. Many of his followers are pierced and tattooed, and sport wild hair color.

The show will chronicle his final days in Atlanta, as now he and his wife have moved to New York where she is attending school and where he is continuing his ministry.

Both Jim, now 66, and Tammy Faye appear in the Sundance series as their son visits them to talk about their spiritual roller-coaster ride.

“I actually visit Mom whenever I can and my sister, Tammy Sue Bakker, moved in to help take care of her,” Jay Bakker said. “At this point in my life, I just want to bring some healing into people’s lives. In my life, I’ve seen far too much hypocrisy in the church and far too many people who have been hurt by the church’s condemnation,” he said.

“Through it all, I still believe in Jesus. I believe in Jesus’ message of love and grace and that there’s always hope in Christ. I know that my church isn’t very big right now. We’ve got about 200 people. But I really do believe that the world needs to hear this message — that love never gives up.”

As a tattooed freak myself, this sort of appeals to me, as I have myself grown disillusioned from the brick and mortar trapping of traditional churches as well as the strictness of the Roman Catholic Church, in which I am baptized.

I just heard about Jay Bakker and his ministry today, but I think I will be looking more into it myself.

Check out the videos I uncovered below.

Incoming Intelligence Committee Chief Can’t Even Answer Simple Intel Quiz

December 13, 2006 by Joe

In a sign that is sure to make Americans feel safe & secure, the incoming head of the House Intelligence Committee cannot even answer the simplest of questions about our enemies. Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas, Pelosi’s hand-picked choice to head up the Intelligence Committee when the Democrats take over in January, failed a quiz of basic questions about al Qaeda and Hezbollah, the two most prominent organizations in the war on terror and Islamofascism.

When asked by Congressional Quarterly’s National Security editor Jeff Stein, which major branch of Islam does the al Qaeda terror network belong to, Sunni or Shiite, he answered incorrectly. “They are probably both,” when prodded he added “Predominantly — probably Shiite.”

Al Qaeda, founded by Osama bin Laden as full on Sunni organization and views Shiites as heretics.

I know that probably 99% of Americans don’t know the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite from a fo’ shizzle. Rep. Reyes, however is not your average American. He is an elected official who is getting paid a very good wage to represent his constituents in Congress and in a few short weeks will head up the intelligence committee. I really don’t think that it is anywhere near a stretch to ask him to be able to know at least the most basic facts about our enemies.

In an interview with CNN, Stein said he was “amazed” by Reyes’ lack of what he considers basic information about two of the major terrorists organizations.

“If you’re the baseball commissioner and you don’t know the difference between the Yankees and the Red Sox, you don’t know baseball,” Stein said. “You’re not going to have the respect of the people you work with.”

While Stein said Reyes is “not a stupid guy,” his lack of knowledge said it could hamper Reyes’ ability to provide effective oversight of the intelligence community, Stein believes.

“If you don’t have the basics, how do you effectively question the administration?” he asked. “You don’t know who is on first.”

Its just more proof that the majority of the Democrats currently in power simply do not know squat about our enemy. Jack Kelly at Real Clear Politics wrote some more on this issue and went on to write about how it relates to the recent Iraq Study Group Report.

Mr. Reyes has, alas, much company in his abysmal ignorance. Two GOP members of the Intelligence committee, Reps. Jo Ann Davis of Virginia and Terry Everett of Alabama, flunked Mr. Stein’s little quiz last summer.

The pressing business of Congressmen (raising money for their re-election campaigns and stuffing earmarks into appropriations bills) takes up a lot of time. But is it too much to ask that members of the intelligence committee — especially the chairman of the intelligence committee — know the basic facts about the enemy who attacked us on 9/11?

Sun Tzu was a Chinese general who died in 496 B.C. His “Art of War” is the oldest surviving treatise on military strategy. It is still considered the best by most strategists today.

“If you know the enemy and you know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles,” Sun Tzu wrote. “If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I just keep thinking about the man who everyday is sounding more and more like America’s Winston Churchill and hope and pray that we didn’t take way too far of a radical backwards step in the war on global terror and Islamofascism thanks to the results of the November mid-term elections. We vote these nut jobs into power and they want to bring Iran and Syria in to helping us with Iran. While the one man who gets it, gets voted out of office.

THE HITLER OF IRAN STRIKES AGAIN

December 12, 2006 by Joe

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or as I prefer to call him The Hitler of Iran has struck again and proved why he is a certifiable nut job in in the cinematic Hollywood villain mode. This week Iran has been hosting a conference on examining the Holocaust and questioning whether Nazi Germany used gas chambers to kill Jews.

While giving comments today, the Iranian Hitler provided us with some more very good quotes proving once again why there is absolutely no negotiating with him and people of his kind.

Thanks to people’s wishes and God’s will the trend for the existence of the Zionist regime is downwards and this is what God has promised and what all nations want.

He further went on to say,

Just as the Soviet Union was wiped out and today does not exist, so will the Zionist regime soon be wiped out.

I’m sure it makes everyone feel great knowing that the Democrats will be soon controlling the House & Senate, during a time in which most experts estimate that Iran will have Nuclear capabilities in at least a year to a year and a half.

This man is within two years of having the capabilities to launch nuclear warheads wiping out Israel and is making the sort of comments that pretty much prove he is going to do it; and yet the rest of the free world just sits idly by letting him talk his garbage, while hoping he can somehow be dealt with through dialogue and diplomacy.

What’s even funnier about this so called “conference” being held at the time of World Human Rights Day no less, is what Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said in his welcome address.

The aim of this conference is not to deny or confirm the Holocaust, its main aim is to create an opportunity for thinkers who cannot express their views freely in Europe about the Holocaust.

That statement is just plain hypocritical, coming from a regime which has total control of the print, broadcast and internet media in their country.

In a related note, my State Senator George Voinovich is starting to sound less like a wishy-washy moderate and more like a man who is actually starting to develop some backbone. In a posting on The Hill’s Congress Blog, he summed up the situation rather nicely.

Those who have recently urged the administration to engage directly with Iran over the issue of Iraq should pay close attention to the message coming from this meeting. And if direct talks are to occur with Iran, they should take place without its president. If we had isolated Hitler when we first saw the warning signs, the world may have never suffered his wrath.

Unless all Arab leaders make it clear that Israel has a right to exist, there will never be a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians, and there will never be true peace in the Middle East.

In another related note, Glenn Beck had Senator Rick Santorum (it’s a damn shame that this man will no longer be holding that office.) on his radio show this morning. Click here, to read a clip from his interview. Rick Santorum clearly “gets it” he understands the severe problems facing the free world today and it is a shame that he is no longer a member of the Senate.
