Kofi to confront Iran

August 24, 2006 by Joe

Well it seems that Kofi Annan plans to visit the Mideast next week. His stops on this trip will include; Israel, Lebanon, Iran and Syria, where he plans on helping shore up the uneasy Israel/Hezbollah cease-fire.

It seems that the main focus of Mr. Annan’s trip is to encourage compliance with Security Council resolution 1701. I’m pretty encouraged by this, I mean its common knowledge how well these UN resolutions work, just look at how well Security Council resolution 1559 worked. It called for all foreign forces (Syria) to leave and it called for all militias within Lebanon to be disbanded. Oh wait, Hezbollah is a terrorist militia that operates outside of the Lebanese governments authority and is funded by Syria and Iran — yeah resolution 1559 worked great. I’m sure 1701 is gonna work even better.

Leave it to the worthless United Nations to forget their past failures and admit that resolution 1701 is not going to be worth the toilet paper it was written on. I’m sure this trip will serve a great purpose for it will give that shady, spineless, inept, idiotic and completely corrupt asshole Kofi Annan a good opportunity for nice photo-ops for two more assholes Hassan Nasrallah and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — probably give Annan some more opportunity to grease his pockets ala oil-for-food.

Maybe I’m being to harsh on Mr. Annan  I don’t know. I’m sure he’ll use this opportunity in the Middle East to help bring up some important issues, especially while in Iran,  like the fact that Ahmadinejad is on record as saying such things as the Holocaust was fabricated and he wishes to see Israel ‘wiped off the map.’

I’m sure Annan is going to ask Ahmadinejad to clarify his comments about destroying another UN member state. Maybe he’s even going to bring up the Holocaust cartoon contest in Iran.

Maybe when Mr. Anan is done admonishing Ahmadinejad for his comments he’ll let the Iranian President know that if he don’t stop Iran’s Nuclear research Iran will get one of those really, really harshly worded UN resolutions.

Maybe I’m being harsh, I mean look at all the lives Annan saved with his UN actions in Srebenica, Rwanda and Darfur. Oh wait, no the UN didn’t do shit there while hundreds of thousands of deaths occurred. Yeah, Kofi Annan is going to do a lot while in the Mideast and maybe my Cleveland Indians will win the World Series this year.

No Mom, ummm its not the plane I wanted to blow up its…

August 24, 2006 by Joe

I don’t even know how to ease into this one. It’s pretty hard to hide things from your mother, at least when you’re a kid at 29 years old however, it should get a little easier — but I suppose when pressed into horrifying predicaments it is easy to lose your cool and say something that gets you into even more trouble.

That’s what happened to Madin Azad Amin, who now faces up to three years in prison. You see, Mr. Amin  and his mother were traveling to Turkey. He was hiding something from her and when airport security searched his baggage and found something suspicious — he lied about what it was. Instead of facing the horror of his mother finding out that he was using a penis pump — he told airport security that the device was a bomb instead.

When officers asked him to identify it, Amin said it was a bomb, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Lorraine Scaduto.

He later told officials he’d lied about the item because his mother was nearby and he didn’t want her to hear that it was part of a penis pump, Scaduto said.

I could go in so many directions with this one I don’t even know where to begin. He probably should have used Enzyte or something instead, that smiling Bob guy in the commercials sure looks like he’s happy.

What really bugs me about this story is the fact that he would think that his mother would think worse of him for bringing a device on a plane that blows up his sexual organ — then she would for bringing on a device that would blow up the plane. Makes you think doesn’t it?

Maybe he could have said that he was an aspiring judge and that it was a legal tool.
