British authorities thwart terror plot - Mass murder on an unimaginable scale

So, I wake up early this morning and have stayed away from the Internet, Television, radio and any form of news what so ever; hop on my bicycle and go riding for two hours. What do I find out when I get back?

Last night, British authorities foiled what very well may have been the largest scale terrorist attack to take place since 9/11.

According to Sky News,

“…those arrested were mainly young, British-born Asian men.”

You gotta love those loveable nut jobs in the traditional media, leaving out the important parts, such as the fact that the terrorists were all Muslims. As always, you have to read between the lines when reading the news in the mainstream fish wraps.

The police did not identify the suspects or their origin, though Paul Stephenson, the deputy metropolitan police commissioner for London, said “community leaders” had been alerted about the police action, using a code word for the British Muslim community.

Don’t want to mention that they were Pakistani or Muslim, wouldn’t want to offend anyone in the “religion of peace.”

Liquid-based explosives were to be used. Twenty Twenty-one British muslims of Pakistani descent were arrested overnight (majority in London, others in Thames Valley and Birmingham). Two more suspects are currently fugitives (details unconfirmed).

In a somewhat related story, the Washington Examiner has an editorial today about the Egyptian eleven and the pathetic state of our immigration policies.

The FBI warns that none of the 11 young men, aged 17 to 22, have any “known associations to any terrorist groups,” but warns that “if found they should be approached with caution.” That careful phrasing suggests the FBI knows more about these Egyptian “students” than it admits.

The truth is, however, far more likely to be that neither the FBI nor federal immigration officials can have much confidence in what they think they know about these individuals. Even the 11 names made public by the FBI are suspect, because terrorist groups are quite capable of stealing identities and personal histories of individuals born in foreign lands to facilitate embedding in America.

When are we going to quit with this politically correct bullshit and do what needs to be done. I agree that racial profiling is a horrible thing to do, but we know where the terrorists come from, this may come as a surprise to slow thinking people — but they are muslim and they are from the middle east. I think that when not only our way of life, but our existence depends on it; it’s sort of okay to racially profile. I’m just sayin’.

CAIR, doesn’t think that’s what needs to be done. Typical.

“The American Muslim community supports efforts to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public,” said CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad. “We once again urge law enforcement authorities and elected officials to caution against stereotyping entire religious or ethnic groups based on the alleged actions of individuals.”

AS FREE SOCIETIES, the Western democracies have a choice of whether or not face up to the existential challenge they face from Radical Islam. The lure of seeking an easy way out is almost irresistible. The siren song of sitting down and reasoning with the Hezbollahs and Ahmadenijads of the world is powerful. If we could just do something to convince ourselves that all is well and that there’s nothing to fear, life sure would be easier.

But it’s past time we face the facts and realize that this our New Normal. It’s worse than the old normal, the one that we had before 9/11 when we felt completely safe even though we weren’t.

It’s time we stop having a sphere of things that are “unimaginable.” Let’s imagine airliners exploding over our cities. Let’s imagine a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv. Let’s imagine a mushroom cloud over New York.

Let’s imagine how such things might happen. And then let’s resolve to stop them.

It’s no longer 9/10 people, we live in a world where fundamentalist Islamofascists want to either convert us, or kill us.
